Abnormal Detection and Troubleshooting of SKF Micro Bearing Operation

  • In order to maintain the original performance of SKF Bearing in good condition for as long as possible, it is necessary to maintain and repair in order to prevent accidents, ensure the reliability of operation and improve productivity and economy.
  •  Maintain the operation standard of corresponding mechanical operation conditions and carry out it regularly. The contents include monitoring the operation status, replenishing or changing lubricants, and regular disassembly inspection.Abnormal Detection and Troubleshooting of SKF Micro Bearing Operation

Abnormal Detection and Troubleshooting of SKF Micro Bearing Operation

  • Generally, if SKF bearings are used correctly, they can be used until the fatigue life is reached. However, there will be accidents. The micro bearing agents will be damaged prematurely and are not resistant to use.
  • This early damage, as opposed to fatigue life, limits the use of quality known as failure or accident. Most of them are caused by careless installation, use and lubrication, foreign matters invading from the outside, and insufficient research on the thermal effects of shafts and shells.Abnormal Detection and Troubleshooting of SKF Micro Bearing Operation
  • As for the damage state of micro bearings, for example, the clamping damage of the ring retaining edge of roller bearings can be considered as the reason. These reasons can also coincide with insufficient lubricant, unsuitable, defects of oil supply and drainage structure, foreign matter intrusion, SKF Bearing Installation Error and excessive shaft deflection.Abnormal Detection and Troubleshooting of SKF Micro Bearing Operation
  • (1) Observation method. Observe the rolling bearing with naked eyes. The inner and outer raceways shall be free of peeling marks and serious wear, and shall be in the shape of an arc groove;
  • The surface of all rolling elements shall be free of spots, cracks and peeling; The cage shall not be loose, damaged or worn through, and the gap with the rolling element shall not be large.Abnormal Detection and Troubleshooting of SKF Micro Bearing Operation
  • (2) Hand feeling method. The clearance between the inner and outer race of the micro bearing is 0.005 ~ 0.005 mm. For the miniature bearing that has been used for one stage, there should be no obvious vibration sound when holding the inner race with your fingers for axial shaking.
  • (3) Rotation method. Hold the inner race of the bearing with one hand and rotate the outer race with the other hand. SKF Bearing shall be able to rotate flexibly without radial shaking.Abnormal Detection and Troubleshooting of SKF Micro Bearing Operation
  • During the inspection, the above three empirical methods shall be combined to make a correct judgment on the technical state of the rolling bearing. For tapered roller SKF bearings, also observe whether the rolling element is located in the middle of the outer race. If it moves forward, it shall not exceed 1.5mm.Abnormal Detection and Troubleshooting of SKF Micro Bearing Operation
  • Contact fatigue failure refers to the failure caused by alternating stress on the working surface of Koyo bearing. Contact fatigue spalling occurs on the working surface of joint bearing, which is often accompanied by fatigue cracks.
  •  It first occurs from the large alternating shear stress below the contact surface, and then extends to the surface to form different spalling shapes, such as pitting or pitting spalling, and spalling into small flakes is called shallow spalling.
  • Due to the gradual expansion of the spalling surface, it often expands to the deep layer, forming deep spalling. Deep spalling is the fatigue source of contact fatigue failure.Abnormal Detection and Troubleshooting of SKF Micro Bearing Operation

State when the joint bearing is stuck

  • The so-called jamming injury is the surface damage caused by the micro burn of the part of the joint bearing on the sliding surface. Linear scars in the circumferential direction of slide surface and rolling surface. The cycloidal scar on the end face of the roller is close to the clamping wound on the shaft ring surface of the end face of the roller.
  • Causes of jamming of Koyo bearing
  • Excessive load and preloading. Poor lubrication. Foreign body bite. Inclination of inner ring and outer ring and deflection of shaft. The accuracy of shaft and bearing housing is poor.
  • Measures for joint bearing jamming
  • Check the size of the load. The preloading shall be appropriate. Improve lubricants and lubrication methods. Check the accuracy of shaft and bearing housing.
  • The main reasons for the fracture failure of Koyo bearing are defect and overload. When the external load exceeds the material strength limit and causes the part to break, it is called overload fracture. The main cause of overload is the sudden failure or improper installation of the host.

  • Defects such as microcracks, shrinkage cavities, bubbles, large foreign objects, overheated tissue and local burns of joint bearing parts will also cause fracture at the defect during impact overload or violent vibration, which is called defect fracture.
  • It should be pointed out that in the manufacturing process of bearings, the presence of the above defects can be correctly analyzed by instruments in the factory re inspection of raw materials, quality control of forging and heat treatment, and processing process control, and the control must be strengthened in the future.
  • But generally speaking, most of the common Koyo bearing fracture failures are overload failures.
  • In the work of the joint bearing, due to the influence of external or internal factors, the original fit clearance is changed, the accuracy is reduced, and even the “bite” is called clearance change failure.
  • External factors such as excessive interference, improper installation, expansion caused by temperature rise, instantaneous overload, etc., and internal factors such as residual austenite and residual stress in an unstable state are the main reasons for the change and failure of clearance
